Who we are

MinistryAI is a nonprofit corporation recognized by the Internal Revenue Service as tax-exempt under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Our registered name and our operating name are the same.

Our mission

MinistryAI builds AI with a shepherd's heart — for churches and seminaries — freeing shepherds and scholars for the work only they can do: the care of hearts and souls.

We exist out of obedience to Jesus Christ, and to his command to love God and neighbor and to make disciples of all nations. AI, used wisely, can help the body of Christ proclaim the Gospel more broadly and care for its people more fully. Used carelessly, it erodes the embodied, relational ministry at the heart of congregational life. Our work is to make sure churches get the first and not the second.

A people whose hearts are drawn ever closer to God and one another — the Gospel reaching farther with every life it changes — all for the glory of God.

What we do

MinistryAI provides its software and services to churches, denominations, seminaries and ministry organizations at no cost, funded by donors who share our vision. Our core activities are:

• Building purpose-built AI tools for ministry We develop an open-source AI platform designed for the distinct relationships of church life — pastors, group leaders, and members — rather than adapting a general-purpose chatbot to a use it was never built for.
• Grounding each church's tools in its own teaching We work with each partner church to assemble a vetted corpus of its own doctrine, liturgy and approved sermons, so the tool reflects that congregation's theology rather than a borrowed one.
• Onboarding, governance and training We help churches and seminaries write AI policy, train their staff, and steward these tools responsibly over time. Cost is rarely the only barrier; know-how usually matters more.
• Research and education on AI in the church We publish guidance and convene pastors, seminary faculty and Christian technology professionals to think carefully about where AI belongs in ministry — and where it does not.

Who we serve

Our programs are available to Christian churches, denominations, seminaries and ministry organizations. We are currently working with pilot congregations in the United States and with theological institutions in Korea, and we welcome inquiries from ministries of any size.

There is no cost to a church to adopt MinistryAI. The platform is open-source and each church owns and governs its own workspace and data.

Leadership

Alongside our leadership, a volunteer community of Christian AI professionals and a theological advisory group of pastors and seminary faculty help guard the work.
